John Hunter Nemechek has signed with Haas Factory Team and will drive its No. 41 Chevrolet full time in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2027.
Pye-Barker Fire & Safety will be the primary sponsor for most of the races. The exact number has not been set.
Leaving Legacy Motor Club
Nemechek drives the No. 42 Toyota in the Cup Series for Legacy Motor Club. The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi reported in September that Nemechek would not return to the team in 2027. Sunday’s finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway is expected to be his last race with Legacy.
Josh Berry will join Legacy next season after leaving Wood Brothers Racing.
A familiar sponsor
Pye-Barker has backed Nemechek at Legacy, and the company is moving with him to Haas Factory Team.
Back to the O’Reilly Series
The move takes Nemechek from the Cup Series back to the O’Reilly Series, where he has won races before. He is a winner in both the O’Reilly and Truck series and has spent the last few seasons in Cup with Legacy.
Haas Factory Team
Haas Factory Team, owned by Gene Haas, switched from Ford to Chevrolet this season. The team grew out of Stewart-Haas Racing, which shut down after the 2024 season, and kept one Cup charter and its O’Reilly Series program.
Nemechek gives the No. 41 an experienced driver who has won at the O’Reilly level.
