Rajah Caruth will be back with JR Motorsports in 2027, team co-owner Kelley Earnhardt said.
JR Motorsports had not released details of Caruth’s 2027 program, including which car he will drive or how many races he will run, as of Wednesday.
Caruth’s season at JRM
Caruth moved up to JR Motorsports’ O’Reilly Auto Parts Series program after racing full time in the Truck Series for Spire Motorsports, where he won his first national series race at Las Vegas in 2024.
He made the O’Reilly Series Chase this season, and he goes into Saturday’s finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway 12th in the standings, 231 points behind leader Justin Allgaier, as Pit This Time reported. He is out of title contention.
A stacked JRM lineup
JR Motorsports, owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kelley Earnhardt and Rick Hendrick, has been one of the top teams in the O’Reilly Series this season. Allgaier leads the standings for JRM going into Homestead, and teammate Carson Kvapil, who won at Martinsville on Saturday, is fourth, 31 points back.
Keeping Caruth gives the team some stability as it plans its 2027 roster.
One of NASCAR’s young drivers to watch
Caruth came to NASCAR through iRacing and Rev Racing’s Drive for Diversity program before moving up through ARCA and the Truck Series. Returning to JRM gives him another season in the same equipment, with the same people, as he tries to turn a Chase season into wins.
What’s next
The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship race is Saturday, November 7, at 5 p.m. ET on The CW from Homestead-Miami Speedway. Allgaier leads Jesse Love by 22 points, Corey Day by 23, Kvapil by 31 and Sheldon Creed by 42 going into the race.
