Ty Dillon will have a new crew chief for the last two races of the Cup Series season. Kaulig Racing said technical director Mike Cook will replace Andrew Dickeson on the No. 10 Chevrolet, starting this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.
The team announced the change on X on Wednesday and did not give a reason.
Kaulig’s announcement
“Kaulig Racing announced today that Technical Director Mike Cook will serve as interim Crew Chief for Ty Dillon’s No. 10 NASCAR Cup Series car for the final two races of the 2026 season, replacing Andrew Dickeson,” the team said.
Cook will be on the pit box at Martinsville on Sunday and at the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 8.
Who Cook and Dickeson are
Kaulig hired Cook as technical director in December 2024. He came from Stewart-Haas Racing, where he was a lead engineer.
Dickeson, an Australian engineer, was named Dillon’s crew chief at the same time, after years as an engineer at Richard Childress Racing. It was his first full-time Cup crew chief job, RACER reported at the time.
A tough season for the No. 10
Dillon is 33rd in the Cup Series standings and has no top-10 finishes this season. He finished 15th at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday.
Dillon, 34, is in his second season with Kaulig. He is the grandson of Richard Childress Racing owner Richard Childress and the younger brother of Austin Dillon, and Kaulig’s shop sits on the RCR campus in Welcome, North Carolina. His teammate at Kaulig is AJ Allmendinger in the No. 16 Chevrolet.
Kaulig has not announced Dillon’s plans for 2027.
