YouTube star Cleetus McFarland is set to run the full ARCA Menards Series schedule in 2027 in a car prepared by Richard Childress Racing, Motorsport.com’s Matt Weaver reported, citing sources.
Fellow YouTube creator George Siciliano, known online as Squirrel McNutt, will also race full time in ARCA next year, in a Rette Jones Racing car. Motorsport.com reported that an announcement is expected this week. Further details of the RCR program were not known.
McFarland’s racing so far
McFarland, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, signed a two-year deal with RCR earlier this year. He made two O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starts with the team, at Rockingham and Nashville, and three Truck Series starts with Niece Motorsports in 2026.
His best results have come in ARCA. In eight starts across 2025 and 2026, he won a pole at Michigan and finished second at Talladega, where he led 19 laps. He also finished fourth in an ARCA East race at Rockingham. All of those starts came with Rette Jones Racing.
McFarland has said his goal is to race in the Daytona 500 one day.
Siciliano’s 2026 season
Siciliano made three ARCA starts in 2026, all with Rette Jones Racing, and earned a top-10 finish at Michigan. He was ninth in the ARCA East race at Rockingham.
The 2027 ARCA schedule
ARCA is the fourth level of NASCAR stock car racing, behind the Cup, O’Reilly and Truck series. The 2027 season will have 20 races, starting at Daytona International Speedway on February 20 and ending at Kansas Speedway on October 1. The schedule includes short tracks, superspeedways, intermediate tracks, road courses and dirt.
Usually fewer than 12 drivers run the full ARCA schedule. Thomas Annunziata won the 2026 championship on a tiebreaker.
What’s next
Update: RCR announced the program on October 28. McFarland will drive the No. 33 Chevrolet with Robert Strmiska as crew chief, marking RCR’s return to full-time ARCA competition. Kenny Wallace has since predicted McFarland will win three ARCA races in 2027.
